Description |
Z_SOIL.PC is a continuously upgraded geotechnical, foundation and underground flow engineering software based on the finite-element method and written in MS-Windows environments (XP, Vista, 7 32/64bits).
The program has been used with great success in forensic, analysis and design studies, covering without exception all possible scenarios encountered in real world case studies. It offers a unified approach to static and dynamic numerical simulations of soil, rock and structural mechanics including excavation and construction stages, soil-structure interaction, as well as underground flow and heat transfer.
ZSoil allows to model most of the natural processes encountered in geotechnical and foundation engineering, including stability, consolidation, undrained behavior, creep and underground flow, as well as, excavations and soil-structure interactions including the regime of very small deformations. The code performs structural pushover analyses, as well as dynamic time integration analyses for structures and single- or two-phase continuum.
EXAMPLES OF APPLICATIONS. Typical engineering problems which are being handled worldwide with Z_SOIL.PC:
- shallow and pile foundation, and earthwork construction
- tunnels, underground storage facilities, metro stations, mining
- cut or fill in highways, railroads, slope stability
- dams, river banks and harbours
- temporary and final retaining structures, water-front and excavation systems with complex excavation sequences, hydraulic structures
- multi-storey buildings
- earthquake engineering
ANALYSIS TYPES. The program can efficiently simulate any types of load and soil stress conditions, for example:
- Gravity fields and initial stress conditions
- Water table and water pressures under steady state or transient conditions, including time dependent boundary conditions
- Drained and undrained soil conditions
- Parameter reduction-based stability analysis
- Transient dynamic analysis with viscous boundaries for two-phase media and domain reduction method for single phase media
- Explicit definition of excavation/construction sequences
- Imposed displacement fields
- Concentrated and distributed loads applied at boundaries of the soil medium
- Unloading control for convergence analysis in tunnel
- Infinite or semi-infinite media
- Non-local approach for softening
- Parametric studies
